House Hunters International heads for Uzes
I discovered Uzes in 2010 while searching for a new property to buy for my business, International Property Shares. My thoughts were “Wow, this is a really gorgeous town and I wish that I could find just what I’m looking for here”. Sadly, nothing fit the bill at that time. Returning again in 2014, I finally found the perfect Uzes pied a terre just a block from the magnificent Place aux Herbes. 
Last Spring, I got an email from someone named Erin, who had discovered my website while googling for properties for sale. A short while later she wrote to say that she and her husband Stuart had found a property in Uzes and bought it. Talk about taking a leap of faith!
It turns out House Hunters International has discovered Uzes as well. It will be featured this Monday as Erin’s family searches for perfect spot to call “home”. Now we are neighbors!

- Visit nearby Medieval villages- St Quentin la Poterie, Vers Pont du Gard, St. Siffret

- Antiques- Don’t get me going here as I LOVE looking for good French finds. Two which come to mind are in Villeneuve les Beziers (every Saturday morning), L’Isle sur la Sorgue (two important international fairs ) as well as one every Sunday in the roundabout as you leave Uzes in the direction of Nimes.

- The Cevennes Mountains -a wild and remote part of France, perfect for hiking.
Wine Tasting- So many choices in the south of France. You won’t be disappointed by heading for nearby Chateauneuf du Pape but why not consider Pic sur Loup, just north of Montpellier? Domaine Clavel was a favorite stop.- Walks-Dozens of choices here but two obvious ones are the Pont du Gard and Les Baux.

The Camargue– This immense plain of marshes and bogs and lagoons is important for migratory birds and flamingos, a lovely day trip from Uzes. You may have heard of the wild horses of the Camargue as well?- Markets of France- Here is a complete list from my friend Julie at The Provence Post. I always try to make it to the Wednesday market in St. Remy de Provence and the Sunday one in Isle sur la Sorgue. And, bien sur, our Saturday one in La Place aux Herbes, Uzes.
Uzes has one of the best markets of Provence.
